Jo has worked with children with SLCN for 30 years. She worked as a senior manager in the NHS and undertakes management consultancy work for NHS Trusts. Jo has also worked as a Fitness to Practice Partner at the Health Care Professions Council, and is a Local Government Association Early Years Peer Reviewer.
Diana has presented research at speech and language therapy conferences both in the UK and in Europe, is co-author of the WellComm Big Book of Ideas (2010) and has worked as a Specialist Advisor for the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
Kathryn specialises in working with children in a range of Early Years settings. She works closely with parents, carers and early years practitioners to share knowledge and provide training, thereby helping children to develop to their full potential.
Hayley enjoys keeping up-to-date with new techniques and strategies. She has a particular interest in Autism. Having broadened her skills and knowledge in Australia, Hayley is putting her new techniques to good use as part of the Soundswell team!
Bryony has a special interest in dysfluency (stammering). She also has an additional degree in Psychology and is a member of the research team which developed the WellComm Screening Toolkit (GL assessments).
Emily has considerable experience with children with SEN, including those with complex difficulties and has worked in a variety of locations, including Child Development Centres. She really loves her role and considers it a real privilege to help support children to communicate successfully with those around them. Find out more about Emily on our news pages
Kate is an experienced Speech & Language Therapist who has a special interest in working with children in the Early Years and particularly those with SEN. She enjoys working with parents and carers to help them support children to achieve their potential
Denise has lots of experience working with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. She has particular expertise and interest in children with severe and profound difficulties and AAC ( Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Denise is Co-Author of the specialist TaSSeLs communication system of touch-speech cues to promote effective communication with people with profound and complex learning disabilities, some of whom may have a visual impairment. Sophia has a special interest in working with children with complex, profound and multiple disabilities and has lots of experience creating a 'Total communication' environment within a range of settings, taking a holistic approach to achieve individual communication goals. Nicki spent many years working in the NHS before going it alone as an independent therapist. she has a special interest in working with children who have ASC, but enjoys a mixed caseload working with all ages. Find out more about Nicki on our news pages
Nibbhaya has been a Speech and Language Therapist for 22 years with the first 15 years in the NHS. He has enjoyed supporting children with a wide range of difficulties especially in the area of interaction. Much of this has been through working together with school staff. Nibbhaya is delighted to help teachers and assistants develop confidence in maximising the communication skills of children in their setting.
Abi has been a Speech and Language Therapist for the past 16 years, and has worked in a range of settings, both in the NHS and Independently. She specialises in treating speech sound disorders, including Cleft Lip and Palate, Articulation Disorders, Phonological Delay and Disorders, Dyspraxia and Hearing Impairment.
Abi is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a specialism in working with children with Downs Syndrome. She is passionate about working holistically; supporting families and education staff to enable children to reach their potential, whilst promoting well-being, and having fun communicating and interacting together.
Nicky qualified in 1997 and since then has provided support for children of all ages with Speech Sound Disorder, Developmental Language Disorder, and complex communication needs within the NHS and independently. She is especially interested in treating children who stammer and those on the Autism Spectrum.
Shahzeb qualified as SLT in 2012 and worked for 4 years in NHS Children's teams clinics and schools, and has been working for a few years in independent practice too. I love the variety of being a speech and language therapist, it's a job that never gets dull
Beatrice is a highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the area of ASD and associated difficulties, as well as complex communication difficulties in the context of special needs. She has a special interest in mental health and is passionate about delivering a high-standard of to achieving the best possible outcome for clients and their families
Sarah has 20 years experience working as a therapist. She brings a wealth of experience of working with a range of communication needs for children from the ages of 2-18. Sarah worked as lead speech and language therapist in a specialist education provision supporting children with specific communication difficulties, and is hugely experienced in working within educational settings.
Qualifying in 2012, Melanie has worked in both NHS and independent roles. She has specialist knowledge of working with autistic children and young people and their families and extensive experience of working in mainstream schools to deliver universal, targeted and specialist interventions.
