Hallmoor’s therapist Denise designed her training around the key learning points (KLPs) – what she wanted staff to understand and be able to use on their return to the classroom.
On a scale of 1-5 (1 being least and 5 being most) staff were asked how confident they felt about the KLPs
At the end of the course staff were asked to repeat the exercise. The results were compared and a summary produced. See table below. On the right you can see the gains made.
The summary is accompanied by a more detailed analysis which talks about why there appeared to be fewer gains with KLPs C & D.
The senior leadership were clearly able to see the value of their investment in the training as the feedback information gathered not only enabled Denise to offer suggestions not only to support several staff as individuals but also the direction for future whole-school training topics.
