During a recent Ofsted visit, regardless of the good work taking place in the SEN department, a city secondary school was slated when inspectors could find no evidence of any SEN targets being worked on in classrooms. As a result of this damning finding, all staff will now need to take forward their responsibility for supporting the SEN (including SLCN) needs of their pupils.
At a recent CPD event Soundswell therapists had debated ways to try and get targets into classrooms as this is a common problem in many schools and settings.
